Ufa State Oil Technical University is one of the leading technical universities in Russia, the reference university of Russia and the reference university of PJSC Gazprom. In 2018, Ufa Oil is preparing to celebrate its 70th anniversary. The university was founded in October 1948 on the basis of a branch of the Moscow Institute of Petroleum named after I.M. Gubkin. By the mid-sixties, Ufa oil turned into an extensive educational structure, which provided skilled personnel for oil production and oil refining in the Ural-Volga region. With the emergence of a new oil-producing region, the West Siberian, the number of students at the Ufa Oil Institute has increased dramatically. By the early eighties of the 20th century, a higher educational institution was finally formed as an educational and scientific complex of all-union rank, acquiring the features of a technical university. In 1993, the university officially received university status. In 2016, after the Ufa State University of Economics and Service joined UGNTU, the university received the status of a reference university of Russia, and then a reference university of PJSC Gazprom. Over these years, the UGNTU has trained more than 100,000 highly qualified specialists for all branches of the fuel and energy, oil and gas production and construction complex of Russia. The university has been successfully integrated into the system of international higher education and since 1996 has been a full member of the International Association of Universities (UIA). Representatives of 51 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and citizens of 67 countries from the near and far abroad (Kazakhstan, Cuba, Vietnam, China, Tajikistan, etc.) are trained at the university. These are students of Russian language courses, interns, students (engineers, bachelors, undergraduates), graduate students and doctoral students. At present, Ufa Oil takes the 17th place in Russia in terms of the number of foreign students studying, and today there are almost 1,300 people at the university, which is about 7% of the total number of students enrolled. The university is actively developing international activities, expanding the scope of international cooperation in the field of scientific and technical developments, actively exchanging students and teachers as part of the academic mobility program, as well as implementing a wide range of training and retraining programs for foreign specialists. Today, the rector of UGNTU - co-chairman of the Association of Universities of Russia - Azerbaijan, is doing a great job in developing friendly and partnerships, sharing experience in scientific research and introducing modern technologies in the field of education. Today, the university consists of 7 faculties, 3 institutes, a pre-university education center, a magistracy, postgraduate and doctoral studies (7 dissertation councils work), an additional vocational education institute, an engineering center and a youth technopark. Ufa Oil today is represented by three branches in the cities of Oktyabrsky, Salavat and Sterlitamak. About 20 thousand students are trained in the whole range of specialties, and their training is carried out by a highly qualified teaching staff in all disciplines of educational programs: about 1,300 full-time teachers, among them more than 200 doctors of science, professors and more than 700 candidates of sciences, associate professors. Close attention is paid to the development of science. In terms of scientific research, UGNTU has the highest rates in the Volga Federal District. Scientific schools are actively developing, undoubtedly proud of which are the names of famous scientists, among them are full members and corresponding members of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, distinguished figures of education, science, engineering, construction and architecture. According to the results of the monitoring of the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”, the UGNTU entered the top 100 universities of Russia, occupying 69th place in the overall rating, in the ranking of technical universities UGNTU ranks 15th among the 50 leading universities in Russia. In UGNTU the system of employment of graduates has developed and successfully functions. Since 1998, UGNTU has signed direct agreements and agreements on cooperation in the field of educational services and scientific research with foreign universities, research centers and oil companies. In general, the demand for young specialists of UGNTU exceeds supply, contracts are regularly concluded providing targeted training and retraining of specialists with major enterprises and organizations of the fuel and energy complex, such as LUKOIL, Tatneft, Gazpromneft, Sibur, TNK-BP, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, etc. Particular attention is paid to programs implemented jointly with state-owned companies Rosneft, Gazprom, and Transneft. An integral part and the basis of the development of the university is its material base. In fact, the history of the institute and the university is the history of construction, the expansion of educational and household space, the constant updating of teaching, laboratory and research equipment. The starting point of this grand marathon is two small dilapidated buildings adapted for training classes in 1948. At present, the university has, in addition to the three branches of the Ural State Technical University in the regions of Bashkortostan, three compactly planned educational and living complexes with all services with a total area of about 195,000 m2. .
